It is through the dynamic of love, right thinking and right actions that our lives become abundant. The Despacho, is a ceremony of gratitude and thanksgiving that helps us to create balance
Haywacuy in Quechua means ceremony of gratitude, an ancestral rite of the Andes in South America. It represent reciprocity,
respect, and wisdom, it restores equilibrium in our relations.
In the Andean vision the divine, nature, and we human beings are one. The principle of Andean life is being in Ayni, living reciprocity with all our relations. In many
communities people live in harmony with nature, the ancestors, sacred places and the spiritual world.
From the early ages children show respect and love towards their relations, the community, the water, the trees and especially for Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (the guardians of the high mountains). By means of the Despacho ceremony people express their gratitude for everything they have been given, as a way to manifest reciprocity and being in harmony.
During the ceremony an offering consisting of seeds, sweets, herbs, and flowers is created. Every detail has a symbol which contains a spiritual message and prayers. In the ceremony “Ayni Despacho” you ask for harmonization at your work place, health, affective relationships, family, home, material and spiritual abundance, luck, travel and protection. There are more than 200 different types of Despachos, which vary according to the intention.
The Despacho is an exquisite celebration like when we prepare ourselves for a beautiful festivity to lavish a loved one. By means of a festivity we offer and express the
best of ourselves with affections and respect. By expressing reciprocity we enter into harmony.
When all offerings have been collocated, a parcel is created, which is tied up and wrapped into an Andean cloth – The Mestana. The shaman, master of the
Pampamesayok ( Paco Andino) cleans every participants of the energy and dissonance in order to restore equilibrium. That way our energetic body is cleansed and
prepared for the germination of the seeds of our intentions. We align ourselves with our most favorable potential which will manifest itself in our lives.
The Despacho can be burnt, buried or sunk in deep water.
When it is placed into the fire, the participants of the ceremony don’t watch the flames until the offering is burnt in its entirety, symbolizing the non-attachment to the results
and the freeing from any reclaiming of that we handed over surrendered.
Despacho Ceremonies offered in person, for groups as well remotely performed by Q’ero shamans in Peru.
